Teacher Scholarship Program - Uganda

We are currently sponsoring two teachers in Uganda. As part of our program, he has been asked to write an email 2 - 3 times a month highlighting new information about the school, sending us pictures and updates. Below is our first email from Moses, our sponsored teacher. Angelo, is Springs of Hope Principal/Director. He also updates us on monthly basis.

hi everyone,
i can not believe the rate at which this year is running,i wish i would stop it for one hour.
well this month has also come to the middle and soon to the end.the headteacher has told me that you are going to helpout with another teache, well thanks very much for thios as it helps the school and children get
well stable and down to earth teachers.
these first two weeks started with some serious studying then it melowed down to some very nice games where the students compete in there various houses.i like having this in school for it motivates the children and relaxes there mind.the headteacher did get some sports equipment for the children like rugby, basketball, board games and many others which was a supprise to us all here.good enough we did not have any students injured.
back to the school,we are preparing for the final exams here which happen at every end of the year, things have not been easy for the children here due to the lots of the rain that have been falling.hopefully it will be better towards the end of the month.you know it gets very cold here towards the end of the year.
as to my life here, its very good and i love the school and all that is happening at the moment.
talk you at the end of the month and please we thank you for all that you are doing for us and the school.

Dear World Teacher Aid,
Am very glad that we have come to the end of the month. It has been a nice two weeks
At the school and we have had a very serious time, the students have been on a tour outside the school for games which they enjoyed after performing well with the other schools.
On the other hand the school has been fine and we have been working very hard to prepare our students for the exams that will count a lot for there next year. All the students are very busy and working hard.
We hard a Christmas party for our students at school before they leave for the festive season holidays then we shall resume back in early January 2010.they really enjoyed the party and they enjoyed it very well. as you may all know our children here enjoy music so it was the right thing to give them before they can do there exams then break off.
To my life, I have managed to work hard and not fall sick this month and I have enjoyed this time. All the time I wake up I think of what a great day this is going to be for me and the students. I would like to thank everyone our there for there kindness and support they have given to me and all the other two teachers.
Thank you very much.

Working Towards a Sustainable Feeding Program for Springs of Hope High School in Uganda
This past December we purchased a cow for the school we support in Uganda. Our aim is for the students to look after the cow and use the milk for their Feeding/Breakfast Program. Any additional milk will be used to sell in the community, in turn generating profits for the school. We look forward to updating you on this project soon.

King William communicates with us on a regular basis. At the beginning of our sponsorship King William sent his report card to show us his academic progress and to continue for us to support him. However, I am proud to say that this relationship has grown and now he is now a big part of our Write to Give Program.
King William is now our main contact and the artist behind our Write to Give bracelets.
For our second annual Write to Give Day, coming up on May 6th, 2010 King William has already started to make the bracelets. We have 750 of them sitting downstairs and he is working on 750 more! I am expecting the shipment any day now.
For more information on his bracelets or to order a bracelets. Please go to www. WritetoGive.org and look in our Gift Shop.
