Progress!

This past week has been filled with many exciting events, that I’m not sure where to begin.

I’ll start with this past weekend.  This Sunday I was at a conference in Toronto,  on Equity Conference for Women put on by the Elementary Teachers Federation of Ontario.  It was a wonderful conference, where I got to learn a lot of new activities to take back to the classroom.

While there, I was also given change to jump n the microphone, in from of a group of teachers from all over Ontario, to share the idea of Write to Give.  This was all thanks to Belinda Longe a member of the executive staff of ETFO.  I had many teachers approach me from other boards, who are interested in completing a book, so that was very exciting.

My last two exciting things, happened on the same day!

On Tuesday, my principal informed me that Jim Wibberley would be visiting the school.  This is our Director of Education for the Grand Erie Board!  Mr. Kinnear my principle informed me that he wanted to share the progress we have made with WTA and also the Write to Give Program!

So while completing a gym lesson, I was visited by Jim Wibberley,  and my principal.  To make a long story short, he loved the book (he even took an example) and has asked me to make a presentation for the board in late April :)   Kind of nerve racking – but great for exposure.

The last thing – is exciting – but also VERY frustrating.  I returned home to a phone call from my lawyer saying that we had heard from the CRA.  It turns out that they want more info.  What is frustrating is that I have waited for OVER SIX MONTHS for them to tell me this.  The good news is that I was on it right away and have sent further details to my lawyer, who will in return forward it on to the CRA.

Now we just wait some more…..

Well that is all the news I have.  I must admit that I am excited, it feels like Write to Give is really beginning to take off.  I can’t wait to get the idea into other school boards :)
