Day 1 July 19th
Depart from North America
Day 2 July 20th
Arrive at Jomo Kenyatta International Airport in the evening

Upon arrival at the International Airport, you will be greeted by a World Teacher Aid volunteer, and taken to your accommodation at the Southern Sun Mayfair Hotel.
This historic hotel, formerly the Mayfair Court Hotel, enjoyed its first heyday in 1940′s Colonial Kenya. Situated in the popular shopping and residential suburb of Parklands, close to the city centre and only 20km from Jomo Kenyatta International Airport and offers a full range of services and facilities.
Day 3 – July 21st
During breakfast meet and greet with the team who you will be embarking on this journey with.
Once everyone has had breakfast we will depart for the IDP Camp. On the way we will stop at the Great Rift Valley and a small town for lunch.
We will arrive at the building site in the afternoon, where you will get a chance to get settled in your accommodation and given a tour of the camp and a chance to see how you have already made a HUGE difference in the community.
The evening is your time to relax by the fire or participate in group activities with the children, to prepare for the two days of building that lay ahead.
Day 4 – July 22nd
Construction day begins!
The day will be spent working along side local Kenyans as we add the finishing touches to the school library that will compete the school.
Day 5 July 23rd
Building Continues.
Today will be the second day of building and helping in the community.
In the evening you will also get a chance to talk to local members of the community and learn from them. Including some African dance, craft and sports.
Day 6 – July 24th
Depart Building Site and head back to Nairobi
After the morning breakfast we will say good bye to the camp site and be back on the road to Nairobi. On the way you will get a chance to stop and look at other local non-profit initiatives that are taking place in Kenya.
Once back at the hotel you will have a chance to rest up. We will meet for dinner as a group to discuss out time at the camp.
Day 7 – July 25th
Discover Nairobi
The morning will be spent visiting our Feeding Program at Mama Tunza’s orphanage. Here you will get a chance to meet Mama Tunza herself and all of her children that she has taken into her care.
The highlights include the The Giraffe Centre (here you will get chance to feed them and if your lucky, maybe even a kiss) as well as the renowned bead shop, Kazuri Beads.
Day 8 – July 26th
Depart for Massi Marra – July 26th – 29th


Today you will depart from the Massi Marra, from Wilson Airport aboard an Air Kenya Airways Flight.
You will spend three days in the Masai Mara National Park. The park boasts 1,672 sq. kilometers of unspoiled wilderness. It offers the best game and bird-viewing not only in Kenya, but anywhere in Africa. The views across the rolling golden grasslands studded with acacia trees, rivers and forests are dazzling, the sense of space overwhelming.
August is the perfect time to become is in the park, as it is the time of the great migration where millions of great wildebeest migrate to the park.
Your safari accommodation will be at Little Governor’s Safari Camp. The camp has been Kenya’s top safari lodge by Kenya at the prestigious world travel awards 2010.
All Governors’ properties are unfenced, and at Little Governors’ there is a resident family of warthogs that wander freely through the camp. Guests may need to make way for elephants which sometimes visit the camp at lunch time.
Day 11 – July 29th
Depart from the Massi Marra and return to the Southern Sun Mayfair Hotel where you will get a chance to pack and get things together.
Here you will get a chance to unwind, and for those who would like to do a little extra shopping that is an option.
For your last night in Kenya we will be eating at the great Carnivore Restaurant. This has been voted twice as one of the top 50 restaurants in the world you will enjoy a meal of virtually every kind of meat available in Kenya. As long as the paper flag on your table is flying, the waiters will keep bringing you food!
Travel home from Jomo Kenyatta International Airport on your late night flight.
*If you would like to stay an extra night at the Southern Sun Mayfair Hotel, that can be arranged, if your flight leaves the next day. However, please note that the trip ends on August 14th, and while we will gladly arrange your transport back to the hotel, there will be no further activities if you choose to stay an extra night.
