Notice: as of June, 2018, World Teacher Aid has rebranded as a new non-profit organization called Village Impact. Please visit the Village Impact website to stay up to date or to make a donation to World Teacher Aid

This is the newest community World Teacher Aid is partnering with. Asanyo farm is located in Kuresoi area of Nakuru county just near border with Kericho county. It is about 90 kilometers from Nakuru town in one direction and 40 kilometers from Kericho town in the other direction.

The community has 91 IDP families living here amongst other people who have been living in this area. These families are among those displaced by electoral violence a decade ago and have been living here since 2009-2010 when the government resettled them here.

This community is multi-ethnic where people from all the communities even the ones that were warring at one time have been put together and have thrived together. Clearly the divisions amongst people were politically charged and thus have gone away since.

On Monday 14th November 2016, we held the first community meeting to kick off the project. Below are video snippets and photos from that meeting. We’re delighted to welcome them in to our fold.
